HK Bus ETA Privacy Policy
Who operates the app
HK Bus ETA is operated by Astera Technology Limited. No account is required. Version 1.0.3 and later display a Google AdMob banner; earlier versions do not include the advertising SDK.
Location and nearby stops
If you allow location access, the app reads your current location while open to find nearby bus stops and routes on your device. The app does not upload your location to our servers or store it. You can turn off location permission in device settings; search and favourites remain available.
Data on your device
Favourite routes and stops, browsing history and display settings stay on your device. You can clear them from the More screen or remove the app data in device settings. The app does not access your contacts or photos.
Public transport data
Bus routes, stops and arrival estimates are drawn from public services including KMB, Citybus, Long Win, NLB and MTR Bus. The app connects directly to the public data service, which may receive ordinary connection data, such as your IP address, under its own policy. Arrival estimates can change because of traffic, diversions or service changes.
Advertising data
The app displays a Google AdMob banner at the top of the screen. It does not use full-screen, interstitial, rewarded or app-open ads. We request non-personalized ads and do not pass GPS coordinates, favourites or route-search history to the advertising service. Google’s advertising SDK may collect IP addresses, device or app identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics and performance data to deliver and measure advertising, protect its services and prevent fraud. Google handles this data under its own policies and encrypts it in transit using TLS. Non-personalized advertising may still use device identifiers.
Advertising privacy options
Before requesting ads, the app uses Google’s consent service to check the options required in your region. Where required, it presents a consent form and provides Ad privacy options under More so you can change your choices. You can also use the advertising-identifier controls in your phone settings. The iOS app does not request cross-app tracking permission. We do not offer accounts, background location or our own usage analytics, and do not sell personal information.
